Optilogic set out to redefine how global companies design their supply chains. They had the vision, but they didn't have the internal product team to build it. They brought in Kodius to develop Cosmic Frog from scratch — a cloud-native design tool that has since raised over $50 million from global investors.

Optilogic is a start-up founded to redefine supply chain design principles. Their latest product is Cosmic Frog, the only cloud-native supply chain design solution on the market that combines optimization, simulation and a risk engine to provide analysis of cost, service and risk across scenarios — enabling more informed decision making.
The platform needed to run on some of the market's fastest commercial-grade solvers, meaning our front-end interface had to be intuitive enough for planners to drive without needing a complex user manual.

An Agile, Embedded Product Team, scaling over time
Our tim acted as Optilogic’s full-scale development arm. Operating in strict two-week sprints, and adapted to shifting requirements based on real-time feedback. We worked closely with the client’s UK product division day-to-day, while keeping synchronous alignments with their US headquarters in Utah.
Developers built the back-end infrastructure, developed the core APIs, created management screens, and built the visual model-builders. Concurrently, UX/UI designers mapped out high- and low-fidelity wireframes to turn highly technical data grids into readable, interactive charts and geographic risk metrics.
As the product gained traction and complexity grew, we scaled the team seamlessly from a few core developers up to a full squad of 10.
Expanding the Ecosystem: The Mobile Companion App
To give Cosmic Frog users a true competitive edge, the web platform needed to extend beyond the desktop. Executives and managers needed a way to monitor, manage, and audit their complex supply chain scenarios anytime, anywhere — right from their pockets.
We designed, built, and launched a native iOS and Android companion app within just 2.5 months, delivering a flawless product right on time for its big reveal at OptiCon 2024.
What the Run Monitor App Does
- Live Scenario Monitoring: Users track the exact progress and resource usage of their running simulations in real time.
- Instant Kill Switch: If a scenario is infeasible or no longer needed, users can stop the run directly from the app to prevent wasted cloud budget.
- At-a-Glance Summaries: Gives an instant overview of all completed runs, clearly categorized by status (Successful, Failed, Stopped, or Infeasible).
